Hal was employed at DuPont, which brought him and his family from North Carolina to Hendersonville, TN. Hal was a leader in DuPont’s efforts to save the failing Sontara Business. By creating a work environment that empowered people to grow and work together, Sontara was the highest quality, lowest cost sheet line producer in the world. Sontara’s business was world class and all those involved contributed to the success.
Through his leadership at Sontara, Hal learned to fit the person to the job verses the job to the person. This allows each member of the team to showcase their talents and make a positive contribution. Good leadership requires great flexibility. These qualities distinguish the difference between a leader and a boss.
Long before Hal’s education and corporate experience, he began his life-long love of horses. His love of horses served to aid Hal cope with many of life’s circumstances and situations he encountered raising six children, leading a world-class business and being a part of an evolving and progressive family. Hal is eager to share the wisdom he has acquired through his years of living.

Olivia graduated from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville with a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration, with a strong focus on Finance.
After working on Music Row for a small, independently owned and operated accounting office, Olivia enrolled in Belmont University, planning to become a CPA with a strong emphasis on tax preparation. Although she did not pursue her plans of becoming a CPA, in 2006 Olivia graduated from Belmont University, Nashville, TN with a Masters in Accountancy.
Shortly after graduating, Olivia left the accounting office and went to work with her sister, Kathy, at The Peanut Shop. The sister’s plan was for Olivia to work with Kathy a few years, learning how to operate the small business successfully. Again, those plans changed and ten years later Olivia and Kathy own and operate The Peanut Shop successfully together.
Through the years of acquiring an education and learning the ropes of self employment, Olivia got married and had four beautiful children. Ava, Katherine, Callie and William are the center of Olivia’s world, motivation and drive. She lives with her four children at Montgomery Farm, making Olivia’s children the 9th generation of Montgomery’s to dwell in this unique family home.
Olivia’s experience with the operation of a successful small business includes a retail shop, an internet equine feed and supply venture, as well as overseeing the distribution of a life-saving equine colic remedy for the states of Tennessee and North Carolina. Olivia’s education coupled with her small business experience and her desire and ability to be a loving mother to four great kids provides her with the tools to successfully oversee the activities performed at Montgomery Hollow. Her love and life at Montgomery Farm, compassion, loyalty, sympathy and being a good listener are attributes making Olivia a good addition to our team.
